This volume brings together almost all of the papers delivered during the international convention entitled, “L'Évangile selon Thomas et les textes de Nag Hammadi. Traditions et convergences,” which took place in 2003 at Université Laval, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the university's royal charter Queen Victoria, and the 340th anniversary of the establishment of the Séminaire de Québec. The goal of this conference was to expose the links between the works belonging to the Nag Hammadi collection and works belonging to related literary genres. In so doing, the conference brought together a wide range of specialists in the Nag Hammadi collection or in the Gospel of Thomas, patristics, neotestamentary and apocryphal literature, apocalyptic literature, and middle- and neo-platonic philosophy, as well as the members of the Bibliothèque copte de Nag Hammadi research project. Thus, the papers collected in this volume put the Gospel of Thomas and the other Nag Hammadi texts in rapport with a wide range of literature from antiquity, including New Testament, apocryphal, patristic, philosophical, monastic, hermetic, and Manichaean works.
